Neuberger Berman Private Debt is a leading private credit platform that focuses on credit investments in private equity-backed companies. With a flexible mandate, the funds are able to invest in a wide range of structures (senior loan, unitranche, and mezzanine).

This is a unique opportunity to join a highly strategic new credit investing platform in Japan that is part of a global asset management platform with over $500 billion of AUM. The position will offer candidates a holistic experience in all facets of private credit investing and an opportunity to work alongside the U.S. private credit team, which is a leader in the U.S. Direct Lending market. The team will be based in Tokyo alongside a 100+ person team focused on global investment solutions. Strong performers will have the opportunity to continue on in a career track capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing in-depth research and financial analysis on private equity-backed companies in various sectors and LBO senior loan/mezzanine investment opportunities
  • Support underwriting and diligence workstreams, including review of target information, preparation of due diligence materials, screening and formal investment committee memos, and being involved in discussions and presentations with investment committee
  • Negotiate/review term sheets, commitment letters and credit agreements
  • Monitoring and reporting on firm’s existing investments; communicate updates to the investment committee (orally and written)
  • Support preparing materials for investors, auditors, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Handle the end‑to‑end investment process and fund operation matters

  • 対象企業の事業・財務分析、デューデリジェンス資料の作成、投資スクリーニング及び投資委員会向け説明資料作成、投資委員会でのディスカッションやプレゼンテーション等、投資評価・クレジット評価に関するプロセスをサポートする
  • タームシート、コミットメントレター、ローン契約書等の交渉及びレビューを行う
  • 既存投資案件のモニタリングおよびレポーティング資料作成を行い、その状況を投資委員会に報告する
  • 投資家、監査人、その他関係者向けの各種資料作成をサポートする
  • 投資プロセスおよびファンド運営に関する一連の業務を担当する

Qualifications:

  • Extensive financial, investment and credit analysis skills
  • At least 3 years of experience in top-tier corporate banking, investment banking, private credit, and/or private equity. LBO deal experience preferred
  • Strong judgment, critical thinking and written skills; ability to articulate and present ideas effectively both orally and in written form
  • Show initiative and creativity in approach to problem solving; demonstrated experience in conducting research and interacting with others to develop solutions
  • Ability to multi-task with a fine-tuned attention to detail
  • Team-player attitude with a desire to contribute to the growth of the platform 
  • English proficiency preferred
