The role:
The Director of Private Markets Investment Due Diligence is responsible for accelerating industry-leading platform relevance for Invesco with Alternative Investments Teams. This role will enable broad adoption of Invesco’s private markets capabilities, initially focusing on real estate and private credit. You will share investment thought leadership, collaborate with clients on product development, and work closely with Invesco’s private markets investment teams. Key to success is pursuing a tailored client service experience with professional buyers (research professionals) with the primary goal of increasing Invesco’s presence on approved / recommended lists. The Investment Due Diligence (IDD) team strives to be the industry’s leading home office engagement team that meaningfully exceeds client expectations.
Establish and sustain deep relationships with Alternatives Investments decision-makers at U.S. wealth management firms
Understand each client’s investment priorities, infrastructure, and decision-making process
Develop a strategic pipeline for private markets strategies in conjunction with investment teams and WMP, inclusive of timelines and goals
Drive all aspects of research engagement through high-level and frequent interaction
Monitor platform-level trends and opportunities to strategically position Invesco’s product line
Acquire and share feedback with internal partners on client priorities, changes in investment views, and industry trends
Actively engage investment teams to cultivate new opportunities, support existing placements, and build awareness on the multi-layered process of distributing in the wealth management channel
Collaborate closely with other members of WMP client coverage team
Coordinate due diligence, facilitate negotiations and onboarding activity with Invesco functional enterprise support teams
Deliver outstanding client service by being highly adaptable and ensuring timely completion of requests
Requirements of the role:
10+ years of due diligence experience or wealth management platform-related business development experience
5+ years private market experience; operational due diligence; real estate and/or private credit experience a plus
High level of investment competence, confirmed by specific work experience and investment credentials (MBA, CFA, CAIA)
Experience with third party alternative markets platform vendors who offer services that enable access to alternative investments
Excellent interpersonal skills and a validated ability to build and manage relationships
A results driven mentality with a natural sense of timeliness in pursuing opportunities
Meticulous organization and business leadership skills
Strong communication (written and oral) and engaging presentation skills
Up to 40% domestic travel required
The salary range for this position is $190,000 to $200,000/ year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location.
