Job Description:
The Digital Release Manager is responsible for establishing best‑in‑class, AI‑enabled release and deployment practices that accelerate speed‑to‑market, improve quality, and reduce risk across RaceTrac’s digital channels. This role leads the evolution of release management from traditional coordination to data‑driven, automated, and continuously improving delivery pipelines, while overseeing teams responsible for enhancements, maintenance, and platform reliability. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, QA, Marketing, and Operations to ensure digital releases are predictable, scalable, and aligned to business outcomes—leveraging automation and emerging AI capabilities wherever possible.
What You'll Do:
Release Leadership & AI‑Driven Process Improvement
Owns the end‑to‑end SDLC and release management strategy for a 3rd‑party DevOps team and the broader DGX development ecosystem.
Continuously evaluates and improves release and deployment processes using automation, metrics, and AI‑assisted insights to reduce cycle time, manual effort, and release risk.
Establishes modern software deployment patterns that embed automated quality gates, security controls, and cross‑team accountability.
Identifies opportunities to apply AI and intelligent automation (e.g., release forecasting, risk detection, test optimization, deployment verification) to improve delivery outcomes.
Cross‑Functional Delivery & Enablement
Leads cross‑functional 3rd‑party development teams delivering digital channel enhancements, loyalty capabilities, and customer‑facing experiences.
Leads teams delivering maintenance upgrades and platform improvements that ensure ongoing reliability, scalability, and business value.
Partners with QA to define and scale best‑in‑class testing practices, including automation, security, performance, capacity, and release validation.
Helps establish, mature, and sustain Agile and DevOps best practices, with a strong emphasis on continuous delivery and continuous improvement.
Business Partnership & Communication
Acts as a trusted Business Relationship Manager for Marketing and key business stakeholders by providing release expertise, impact assessments, estimates, and delivery timelines.
Facilitates clear, data‑driven communication between business partners and Information Solutions to ensure work is delivered in the right channels, at the right time.
Uses structured project and release management methodologies to scope initiatives, plan resources, manage dependencies, and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
Vendor & Ecosystem Management
Manages 3rd‑party integration partners and augmentation teams, ensuring alignment to RaceTrac standards, delivery expectations, and release cadence.
Drives consistency in tooling, deployment practices, documentation, and operational readiness across internal and external teams.
Performs other ad hoc duties as needed.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience in the IT function, with demonstrated success in delivery or release management.
Minimum 3 years of experience leading teams or delivery efforts in an Agile environment.
Minimum 3 years of experience designing or managing enterprise CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
Experience with modern digital platforms and architectures, including some combination of:
API Gateways, Event‑Driven Architectures, Cloud Platforms, 3rd‑Party Loyalty or Marketing Solutions, Master Data Management, and Front‑End Technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Experience with technologies such as Azure Cloud, Node.js, Java, ActiveMQ, Redis, Azure Stream Analytics preferred.
Experience applying automation, analytics, or AI‑assisted tooling to improve development, testing, or release processes is strongly preferred.
Cloud (Azure, AWS) and Agile (SAFe, ACP, etc.) certifications preferred.
