Are you a creative and tech-savvy journalist with a passion for online content, digital media, and news coverage? If so, this is your chance to join one of the most dynamic, fast-paced media environments in the industry! As a Digital Production Intern (40 hrs/week), you’ll dive into the heart of the newsroom, helping to craft and optimize content that engages millions of readers every day.

In this exciting role, you’ll work closely with our editorial, web, and social teams to bring breaking news to life, enhance the visibility of stories, and make sure they’re tailored for digital audiences. Whether you’re sourcing the latest viral content or refining live stories to perfection, you’ll be a vital part of keeping the Post’s digital presence fresh, relevant, and buzzing with engagement.

Note: This internship is scheduled to run from June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026. Participants are expected to work full time hours and adhere to our on-site work schedule. Open to current juniors and seniors pursuing a BA, MA students, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by March 15th.
 

What You’ll Do:

  • Gather and create captivating content from wire services that align with The Post’s signature style and voice.

  • Occasionally pitch and write stories that resonate with The Post’s online audience, showcasing creativity and an understanding of trending topics.

  • Team up with web and social media teams to cover breaking news and deliver fast, accurate updates to our readers.

  • Use analytics tools to monitor audience engagement and track what resonates with readers. Provide insights that help improve content performance.

  • Keep live stories up-to-date with new photos, links, and relevant info, ensuring they’re always engaging and timely.

  • Develop strategies to boost content recirculation using tools like reusable blocks and info boxes.

  • Review and update live stories, ensuring they meet The Post’s high editorial standards and are optimized for digital platforms.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Ability to quickly find and incorporate relevant photos, videos, and multimedia to complement and enhance stories.

  • Comfortable balancing multiple tasks and working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom.

  • Passionate about online content, news, and engaging with readers through digital platforms.

  • Willingness to use analytics tools to monitor reader engagement and assist the team in identifying trends and opportunities for content improvement.

  • Eager to brainstorm new ways to improve content visibility and recirculation using digital tools like reusable blocks and info boxes.

  • Organized with a strong focus on ensuring stories meet editorial standards and are optimized for digital publication.

  • Enthusiastic about collaborating with experienced web and social teams, especially during fast-paced breaking news situations.

  • Keen interest in identifying compelling stories from wire services and contributing ideas that will capture the attention of The Post’s audience.
