Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Digital Product Manager to provide a unique opportunity to combine Deep Client and Colleague Insights as well as Emerging Technology to enhance the value we deliver to clients. This role will be focused on defining the client and product strategies to build Absa token-based payment solutions and grow revenue streams from the ground up.
Cultivate close working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including Clients, Coverage, Product Teams, Design Teams, Tech and Operational Teams to identify, validate and co- create solutions.
This role is perfect for someone that is passionate about Blockchain technology and the efficiencies that can be achieved, has an entrepreneurial and pioneering mindset and is energised by the possibility of how new technologies can transform our client’s experiences in banking. Build a new revenue stream from scratch and drive new technology use across the industry.
Job Description
Product Discovery
- Ensuring that all ideas are validated through a full Discovery process to ensure solutions are useful (our clients will use them) and are usable (our clients are delighted by the experience)
- Collaborating with Product Designers & technology partners to generate ideas, prototypes and experiments
- Coordinating secondary market as well as user research on a specific feature that’s currently “in discovery”
- Gathering key research, data, insights and customer feedback to inform decision making
- Leading the product team to discover and deliver features, products and services that solve key user, customer and business problems
Strategy and Planning
- Developing a product strategy on Stablecoins and Tokenised Deposits in partnership with client, product, and risk teams.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to understand and assess the evolving Domestic and International technical, legal and regulatory issues and risks associated with token-based payment systems.
- Understanding the landscape of emerging technology trends/breakthroughs (For example: Digital Assets and Blockchain) and how Stablecoins are being utilised and commercialised and their opportunities for application in the Absa environment.
Business Change
- Planning and managing ongoing investment and activity in-line with defined portfolio.
- Driving the delivery of solutions across our product, operations, and technology teams. Include capacity, capability planning and development
- Stakeholder management: Identifying key stakeholders. Ensuring clear understanding of their expectations and appropriately manage these together with the agreed objectives. Engaging stakeholders to build ongoing support, mutual understanding and common commitment of values and principles. Define and agree stakeholder communication matrix across Africa Presence countries.
Sales Enablement and Coverage Support
- Driving engagement across product and coverage to position Absa’s capabilities with clients and increase use of Stablecoin products and services.
- Partnering with Change team to train and support Sales Enablement and Coverage teams, including client facing materials

- B-degree
- 8 years’ experience in the financial industry and/or in Corporate Banking
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an agile environment.
- Exposure to emerging technology – i.e. CRM, Blockchain, DLT, Artificial Intelligence, Smart contracts
- Existing knowledge of Stablecoin / CBDC preferred
- Product Management certification

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
