Purpose of Role
The Digital Integration Specialist plays a critical role in bridging the gap between hardware systems and software platforms to deliver seamless, intelligent solutions. This position focuses on integrating digital technologies across products, services, and operations to enhance performance, efficiency, and customer experience.
Operating within the Global Comminution Applications Team, the role covers the full Weir Comminution portfolio, with a primary focus on Enduron HPGRs, Cone Crushers, and Stirred Mills. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), coordinating field testing, and preparing technical proposals for upgrades, repairs, and reconditioning.

Key Responsibilities
- Implement integrated digital solutions connecting mining equipment, sensors, and control systems with software platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, IT, and OEM partners to ensure seamless integration.
- Analyze operational data from crushers, grinders, mills, and conveyors to resolve software communication and performance issues.
- Troubleshoot integration challenges and provide technical guidance to resolve system conflicts or connectivity problems.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and downtime reduction.
- Develop training materials and best practices to support digital adoption across Weir teams.
- Create and distribute Safety and Technical Alerts; escalate issues to engineering when necessary.
- Standardize upgrade (retrofit) solutions and communicate proactively to regional stakeholders.
- Report internal and customer non-conformities into Weir’s quality management system and lead resolution of digital-related NCs.
- Train customers and regional teams in operational and service skills.
Job Knowledge, Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in technical support or engineering roles.
- Expertise in PLCs, software programming, SCADA systems, and cloud platforms.
- Strong technical and commercial mindset; ability to translate technical advice into business opportunities.
- Proven ability to share knowledge and train colleagues.
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 25%.
