Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Scrum Master to join the LSG Digital Finance Team. This role plays a critical part in enabling the Digital Finance pods cross-functional team — spanning data engineering, analytics, architecture and business product owners — to deliver high-value digital finance products efficiently and sustainably. You will facilitate agile ceremonies, remove impediments, and continuously improve team performance to accelerate delivery of scalable data and analytics capabilities for Finance.
Responsibilities
- Lead all agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives) to ensure clear communication and team alignment.
- Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Architecture/Engineering/Analytics leads to translate business priorities into well-structured sprints and deliverables.
- Drive process discipline and transparency, ensuring stories, acceptance criteria, and velocity metrics are well-documented in Jira.
- Identify and proactively remove impediments that may block delivery and escalate issues as needed through the pod’s defined prioritization and escalation framework.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting agile best practices, collaboration, and data-driven performance tracking within and across pods.
- Coach team members on Scrum and agile principles, ensuring the pods operate as self-sustaining, high-performing units and report up to a cohesive whole.
- Maintain and communicate metrics such as sprint velocity, burndown charts, and delivery cycle times to provide visibility into progress and areas for optimization.
- Partner with the CC&T (Change, Communication & Training) team to ensure that delivery timelines and outcomes are clearly communicated to stakeholders.
- Support the Finance Product Owner in aligning delivery cadence to the strategic roadmap and ensuring work prioritization reflects business value.
- Facilitate effective collaboration across cross-functional teams (Data Engineering, Analytics, Business Solutions, and Product) to ensure timely, quality releases of digital capabilities through creation and maintenance of pod-wide team agreements: e.g. definition of ready, definition of done, etc
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and hands-on experience leading scrum teams.
- Proficiency with Jira or other agile project management tools.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills; able to manage diverse perspectives and guide discussions toward action.
- Demonstrated ability to remove blockers, manage dependencies, and foster accountability across business and technical teams.
- Familiarity with data and analytics delivery (e.g., data engineering, BI/reporting, or digital product development) preferred.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment and partner effectively with both business and IT stakeholders.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead in a data, analytics, or digital product organization.
- Experience operating in cross-functional agile teams with both technical and business contributors.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM or equivalent) preferred.
- Background in or exposure to finance, data platforms, or digital transformation initiatives is a plus.
