Job Description

As a Digital Enterprise Architect on the Enterprise Architecture team, you will be a key driver in building next-generation customer experiences for Motorola Solutions. Your primary focus will be to guide the architecture for New Product Introductions (NPI), e-commerce, and customer self-service platforms. You will play a crucial role in transforming key customer-facing functions, leveraging products from the Oracle, Salesforce, Adobe and multiple other ecosystems. The role will work closely with our business relationship managers and business teams to identify areas suited for these technologies and drive proof of concepts and trials and implementations of them. Research and investigation into appropriate tools and enabling software will also be performed. This role is enterprise architecture work of aligning our IT systems to fit our business processes and needs.

Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations

  • Define and maintain the long-term architectural strategy and roadmap for key self-service platforms, including Oracle Commerce and Salesforce Experience Cloud.

  • Conduct research and due diligence on new features and emerging technologies within the Oracle and Salesforce ecosystems to inform build vs. buy and modernization efforts.

  • Act as a key technical advisor in vendor discussions, ensuring platform usage and licensing are optimized and aligned with the enterprise architecture strategy.

  • Design the target state architecture for the integrated Oracle Commerce and Salesforce Experience Cloud landscape, covering application, data, and technology layers.

  • Define the standardized integration strategy and patterns (e.g., API-led connectivity) for data and process flow between Oracle Commerce, Salesforce (Sales/Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, etc.), and other enterprise systems (ERP, PIM).

  • Establish and govern security architecture standards across both platforms, addressing data encryption, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

  • Ensure all architectural designs meet enterprise requirements for scalability, performance, reliability, and resilience to support peak commerce traffic and a growing user base.

  • Proactively identify and propose remediation strategies for technical debt within the commerce and experience platforms to ensure long-term sustainability and agility.

  • Identify and mitigate architectural risks related to platform choices, complex integrations, large data volumes, and technical obsolescence.

  • Design the end-to-end data architecture (customer, product, order, content), defining the roles of Oracle Commerce and Salesforce Experience Cloud as systems of record or engagement.

  • Drive the technical strategy to create a unified view of the customer by connecting commerce and experience data

  • Ensure the architecture supports necessary data aggregation and transformation to enable advanced analytics and business intelligence.

  • Collaborate with business units and IT stakeholders to translate business capabilities into tangible technical requirements and platform usage patterns.

  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and development teams during implementation, customization, and integration.


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or MIS or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a business-facing architectural or technical leadership role.
  • Extensive experience with large-scale digital platforms, including e-commerce platforms (e.g., Oracle Commerce) and a strong background in Salesforce CRM and Experience Cloud.
  • Advanced knowledge of system architecture, application design, and integration principles to ensure cohesive and effective solutions.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion ERP Cloud and CPQ platforms is highly desirable.
  • Mastery in at least one current SQL dialect.
  • Experience with IT Governance and Lifecycle Processes, CI/CD best practices, and DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a complex business environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to articulate, rationalize, and document technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into viable architecture, design, and development activities.
