Travel + Leisure is seeking a dynamic Digital Editor who is an exceptional writer, a deeply knowledgeable market editor, and a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of digital performance. This role is ideal for an editor who thrives in a fast-paced environment, contributes meaningfully to ambitious output and traffic goals, and serves as a visible ambassador for the brand at industry events.
The Digital Editor will help shape daily coverage, produce and edit high-quality stories, and identify opportunities to grow an audience through timely, authoritative, and inspiring travel content.
Hybrid 3x a week- (New York)
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

40%: Editorial & Writing:
Write, edit, and publish a high volume of compelling, accurate, and brand-appropriate digital stories across travel, destinations, hotels, experiences, and lifestyle.
Pitch and execute smart, timely story ideas that balance service, inspiration, and cultural relevance.
Maintain Travel + Leisure’s editorial voice, standards, and authority across all platforms.
20%: Market & Trend Expertise:
Serve as a knowledgeable market editor with a strong understanding of travel trends, industry news, and consumer behavior.
Identify emerging destinations, hotel openings, airline and cruise news, and travel products that resonate with readers.
Translate market insights into actionable, high-performing content.
20%: Traffic & Performance:
Contribute meaningfully to aggressive output, traffic, and engagement goals.
Optimize stories for Google Discover, SEO, and social distribution in partnership with growth and audience development teams.
Use performance data to inform story selection, headlines, updates, and evergreen strategies.
10%: Collaboration & Leadership:
Work closely with senior editors, audience, SEO, and social teams to execute coverage plans.
Edit or oversee freelance contributors as needed.
Participate in editorial planning, content calendars, and special projects.
10%: Brand Representation & Industry Presence:
Represent Travel + Leisure at industry events, press trips, media dinners, and brand activations.
Build and maintain relationships with PR contacts, tourism boards, hotel brands, and industry partners.
Act as a visible, credible ambassador for the brand in professional settings.
The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or communications, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
4–7+ years of experience in digital media, preferably in travel, lifestyle, or luxury content.
Proven strength as a writer with a portfolio of published digital work.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:
Strong market knowledge and a clear point of view on travel trends and consumer interests.
Demonstrated ability to work quickly and thoughtfully in a high-output environment.
Solid understanding of SEO, audience growth, and digital analytics.
Comfortable representing a premium brand publicly and professionally.
Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
A confident self-starter who generates ideas and executes with speed and polish.
Someone who can balance aspirational storytelling with performance-driven content.
A team player who’s equally comfortable filing stories, editing copy, and networking at industry events.
A genuine passion for travel and the Travel + Leisure brand.

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $67,000.00 - $75,000.00The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
