Job Description Summary
Digital Ecosystem (IoT) Technician/Engineer to install, maintain, and troubleshoot sensor systems in industrial environments. This role ensures reliable device performance, supports data collection, and enables operational insights through sensor connectivity and log extraction. This role will also be responsible for supporting site Cyber-Security, the current IT and equipment install base, and day to day factory projects and issues as identified by management. Partner closely with IT/Help Desk functions to provide site wide support.

Responsibilities:
- Install and configure industrial sensors (e.g., temperature, humidity, motion).
- Connect to devices to verify functionality and extract test logs for analysis.
- Monitor sensor performance and ensure consistent data flow.
- Troubleshoot sensor issues and document resolutions.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate sensor data into operations.
- Maintain records of installations, updates, and test results.
- Support upgrades and continuous improvement of sensor systems.
- Apply best practices and approved design standards.
- Cyber-Security Site technical point of contact, supporting corporate cyber-security efforts locally
- Technical interface with corporate and local IT to maintain the local network and ensure compliance to corporate goals and objectives
Qualifications:
- Experience with industrial sensors and PLCs.
- Familiarity with protocols like Modbus and OPC UA.
- Ability to connect to devices and extract diagnostic or performance logs.
- Basic programming skills (Python, Java, or C/C++).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Clear communication and documentation abilities.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field – OR – experience heavy
- Experience in industrial environments preferred.
- IoT-related certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with PowerBI or related data visualization methods.
Collaboration Expectations:
- Daily sync with site Digital Ecosystem PM
- On demand engagement with site ME Team members (process/equipment owners)
- Coordination with Local IT plus as needed with GEHC Compute/Network/Cyber Teams
- Regular connects with central Digital Ecosystem Team (periodic Op Mech)
