You are a dynamic Data Engineer interested in challenging the status quo to ensure the seamless creation and operation of the data pipelines that are needed by Sanofi’s advanced analytic, AI and ML initiatives for the betterment of our global patients and customers. You are a valued influencer and thinker who has contributed to making key datasets available to data scientists, analysts, and consumers throughout the enterprise to meet vital business use needs. Main Responsibilities:
Lead, supervise, prioritize and direct a team of Data Engineers on design, implementation and sustainment of data pipelines
Provide architectural oversight on the construction of data pipelines with enterprise standards and implications in mind, including testing, logging, monitoring and orchestration
Work with business teams to understand requirements, and translate them into technical needs
Gather/organize large & complex data assets, perform relevant analysis, explore ways to automate as much as possible
Ensure the quality of code and data in coordination with Data Analyst and Data Scientist, Architecture and Data Governance representatives
Propose and implement relevant data models for each business case
Create data models and optimize queries performance
Communicate results and findings in a structured way
Partner with Product Owner and Data Analysts to prioritize the pipeline implementation plan
Partner with Data Analysts and Data scientists to design pipelines relevant for business requirements
Leverage existing or create new “standard data pipelines” within Sanofi to bring value through business use cases
Ensure best practices in data manipulation are enforced end-to-end
Actively contribute to Data governance community
Remains up to date on the company’s standards, industry practices and emerging technologies
About You
Key Functional Requirements & Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in data engineering, integration, data warehousing, BI, or business analytics, with demonstrated experience leading and guiding team members.
Experience working with a variety of cross-functional teams
Good understanding of agile/scrum development processes and concepts
Pragmatic and capable of solving complex issues
Service-oriented, flexible team player
Attention to detail & technical intuition
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills for executive level communication and collaboration
Key Technical Requirements & Qualifications:
Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience in data integration, ETL & ELT, job flows using 4GL tools (Informatica/IICS or DBT)
Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases technologies/concepts
Working knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Shell scripting, R)
Nice to haves:
Experience working in life sciences/pharmaceutical industry is a plus
Experience with job scheduling and orchestration (Control-M or Airflow)
Experience with automated testing and CI/CD
Experience with AWS cloud services
Experience working with data models and query tuning
Experience in cloud-based data platform solutions (Snowflake)
Familiarity with data ingestion through batch, near real-time, and streaming environments
Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and architectures (data mesh a plus)
Familiarity with Source Code Management Tools (GitHub a plus)
Familiarity with Visualization Tools (PowerBI, Tableau a plus)
Familiarity with Project Management Tools (JIRA, Confluence a plus)

The salary range for this position is:
$148.500,00 - $214.500,00All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
