The Team:

The S&P Global Ratings Editorial team consists of about 100 staff in offices around the world and is part of the Ratings Operations division. As part of this team, you will work closely with designers, editors, and analysts globally to produce graphics that will appear in S&P Global Ratings' research. We operate in an exciting, fast-paced environment where we contribute to team initiatives to improve our business area and actively participate towards team goals while maintaining our commitment to putting our people first.

Your work will be critical to S&P Global Ratings' mission to provide transparency and accountability to financial markets. The quality and accuracy of our credit opinions are essential to our reputation as the foremost provider of market intelligence. You will help showcase these to a broad audience, clarifying deep insights by making them easy to understand at a glance for our readers. In this role, you will take accountability of individual and team targets while providing guidance and clarification to support the team in delivering quality work.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, design, and produce data visualizations, infographics, social media images and other digital assets to support our research and insights publications, demonstrating proficiency in your specialized field.
  • Page layout, design, and desktop publishing for a range of report formats while performing work effectively under general guidance.
  • Ensure design outputs conform to global standards in terms of format, house style, and brand specifications, showing attention to detail to identify issues that others may miss.
  • Collaborate with editors and authors to enhance the customer experience, while adhering to design and visualization best practices and actively participating in collaborative efforts.
  • Project manage design jobs from submission through to publication, demonstrating ability to prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency.
  • Act as an internal brand advocate across design and publishing while interpreting technical information to aid understanding.
  • Apply impeccable attention to detail and workflow processes to ensure error-free publication under tight deadlines, using previous experience to identify appropriate courses of action.
  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in data journalism, graphic design, multimedia, visual communications, or a related discipline.
  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 2+ years of experience in data journalism at a financial services company or credit rating agency.
  • Proven design and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to create compelling data visualizations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative suite, particularly Illustrator, PhotoShop, and InDesign.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with ability to convey information clearly to a range of audiences.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with video editing software and multimedia content creation.
  • Demonstrable interest and knowledge of financial data topics and credit rating methodologies.
  • Good grasp of mathematical and data analysis concepts, including ability to process data using Microsoft Excel.
  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
