Role Title: Digital & Automation Intern – Supply Chain Planning
Locations: Loughborough, United Kingdom
Duration: 12 months

As a Digital & Automation Intern, you won’t just “support projects”—you’ll own meaningful digital initiatives that improve how Thermo Fisher’s European Supply Chain operates. You’ll design automation tools, build dashboards, and help shape the digital transformation strategy across multiple countries.
This role is an ideal fit for students looking to develop real-world automation, analytics, and process improvement skills inside a global science and technology leader.
What You Will Work On:
1. Build Real Automation Tools
- Design and test automation solutions using Power Automate, Power Apps, Python, or low-code platforms.
- Develop bots that eliminate repetitive tasks and create measurable efficiency improvements.
- Partner with Digital Ambassadors to identify new automation opportunities and demonstrate their value.
2. Create Data Dashboards & Insights
- Build Power BI or Tableau dashboards used by operational teams.
- Analyze live supply chain data to support decision-making.
- Standardize reporting templates and document data flows across sites.
3. Drive Continuous Improvement (PPI)
- Participate in Lean/PPI workshops and problem-solving sessions.
- Map processes, identify bottlenecks, and contribute to business cases for digital improvements.
Support Strategic Projects
- Help deliver the European Digital Development roadmap.
- Track milestones, support governance communication, and align with leadership priorities.
5. Boost Digital Culture Across Europe
- Support Digital Bootcamps, Tech Talks, and Expos.
- Create communication materials to showcase success stories and innovations.
