Hybrid Working, Job ShareJob Description Summary
As Lloyds Banking Group enters the Digital Asset market, this role sits at the intersection of innovation and protection. You’ll play a key role in shaping the economic crime control environment that underpins safe growth in a fast‑moving, high‑risk space.Job Description
JOB TITLE: Digital Assets - Manager
SALARY: Competitive - will be discussed at interview stage
LOCATION(S): London, Birmingham or Edinburgh
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
About this Opportunity:
Digital Assets are transforming the future of financial services—and there’s never been a more exciting time to be part of that journey. As the Group moves confidently into the Digital Asset market in 2026, we’re shaping innovative propositions that span both Commercial and Retail customers, with new products and technology builds already in development.
We're investing innovative capabilities—from blockchain adoption to tokenised transactions—to ensure LBG becomes the UK’s trusted conduit for digital assets - offering the chance to help shape foundational controls and keep the Group resilient in a fast‑evolving market.
Because these products operate in a high-risk space from an economic crime prevention (ECP) perspective, we're looking for dedicated ECP expertise to guide and influence the development of the control environment, including oversight of key technology builds that will be required for scale-up and operating model considerations.
What you’ll be doing:
Working in a small, dedicated team you'll:
Facilitate and contribute to the development of our strategic approach across the wider Group’s ECP community
Manage engagement on behalf of the business with the Digital Assets Lab, ECP Platform and 2LOD ECP teams to understand the risks associated with Digital Wallets, Tokenised Deposits, Digital Assets and Stablecoins.
Contribute pro-actively to the identification of controls required and steps required to develop these, including changes to processes, technology and operating models.
Support the implementation and embedment of amended or new controls.
Manage relationships with important internal customers and function as their business partner, supporting relevant senior management.
Work with the ECP Policy, Strategy and Oversight teams to identify changes required to Policy, standards and methodologies (e.g. BECRA and CRA) to enable LBG’s participation in Digital Assets.
Support the training and upskilling of colleagues in Digital Finance.
Support the adoption of technology to enable effective monitoring of blockchain.
Support the development and implementation of a framework to manage economic crime investigations into payments made using digital assets.
Why join us?
We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.
What we’re looking for?
You’ll be an experienced Economic Crime Prevention professional, with 5+ years experience in:
Advisory, product or framework‑led roles, ideally within complex financial services environments.
Building a strong understanding of fraud and financial crime risks and controls across the customer and product lifecycle.
Attained knowledge of AML, Sanctions and fraud risk, including regulatory expectations and control design.
Influencing or shaping risk frameworks, policies, standards or control environments.
Understanding of fraud and financial crime prevention and detection technologies.
Confidence partnering with senior leaders, providing clear, pragmatic advice in evolving risk areas.
Being proactive, you'll have a strong appetite for learning and protecting the Group, its customers and communities.
Experience or knowledge in the evolving Digital Assets space would be ideal, including use of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies and tokenisation, but those with an appetite to upskill quickly should also apply!
It would also be useful if you had:
An understanding of Commercial and particularly Markets products
Experience and understanding in payments, settlement and PSO frameworks
We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.
This is a place for you:
