The Position

The Opportunity

This degree apprenticeship combines university-based learning with intensive on-the-job training to prepare you for a specialist career in technical security and infrastructure. Over the course of the program, you will work alongside in-house experts to support the cyber security posture of the Roche product portfolio while completing a Digital and Technology Solutions Degree.

You will be a key member of the Digital Health Security (DHS) and Information Security Management System (ISMS) core teams, focusing on protecting healthcare technology through configuration and maintenance of security and network connected devices as well as Information security risk management activities. You will participate as a valued member of project teams whenever required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Information Security & Risk: Participate in information security risk management activities and support the Information Security Management System (ISMS).

  • Customer Due Diligence: Complete customer-facing assurance documentation and security questionnaires to support commercial success.

  • Infrastructure & Cloud: Provide hands-on assistance with hardware, software, and the configuration of new systems, including network, Cloud and security devices.

  • Technical Support: Handle internal and external enquiries via phone, email, and remote services, using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex technical situations.

  • Field Engagement: Assist field-based technical service teams with installations, modifications, and planned maintenance at customer sites .

  • Innovation: Contribute to the evaluation, development and promotion of new technologies such as cloud infrastructure across the team.

Who You Are

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:

  • Educational Foundation: A minimum of 2 A-Levels (or equivalent professional experience) plus 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4/A-C, including Maths, English, and IT.

  • Technical Aptitude: A strong interest in IT infrastructure, including an understanding of networking (DNS, DHCP), Microsoft Servers, Active Directory, and Windows operating systems.

  • Problem Solving: Good analytical abilities with high attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Communication Skills: The strong communicator with the ability to engage positively with customers and colleagues, presenting a professional image at all times.

  • Sector Interest: A genuine desire to learn about the challenges and innovations shaping the healthcare IT industry.

  • Mobility: A valid UK driving licence (or being an active learner) is required to support field-based activities.

Location and Recruitment Process:

This role is a hybrid of office-based work (Burgess Hill) and field activities, with a requirement to attend university at an agreed frequency.
