Job Description

The Digital Analytics & CX Engineering Director provides engineering leadership for marketing analytics platforms and data products that enable measurement, attribution, and customer insights across our banking channels. This role combines software engineering leadership; analytics, tag management and CX engineering practices; paid media data and ad platforms; and marketing, analytics, and customer experience domain partnership to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality solutions.
This role has ownership of moderately complex technical and delivery problems, including short-term execution of defined strategies and long-term focus on planning for efficiencies and innovation. The successful candidate will partner closely with Marketing and Digital stakeholders to translate business needs into effective engineering solutions while fostering engineering excellence and team growth.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership & Delivery

  • Establish and execute engineering objectives for digital analytics and tag management systems and CX platforms in alignment with business and technology strategies
  • Lead teams in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting scalable and reliable analytics engineering solutions that meet defined marketing and digital needs
  • Provide technical direction and guidance on architecture, design patterns, and engineering standards within the marketing and digital domain
  • Provide technical direction and expertise for the ad tech ecosystem and data flows across display, search, social, and CTV
  • Ensure engineering work adheres to best practices for quality, security, performance, and maintainability

Marketing Analytics & CX Engineering Enablement

  • Support the development and operation of analytics and tag management engineering capabilities that enable digital and customer experience measurement and reporting
  • Support the development and operation of customer experience tools that enable a customer-centric focus for our Marketing and Digital teams
  • Partner with Marketing and Digital teams to translate requirements into business cases and well-defined technical solutions and data products
  • Enable consistent, trusted data flows and analytics outputs that support marketing decision-making

Operational Excellence

  • Establish and use metrics to assess engineering delivery, system reliability, and platform performance; drive continuous improvement, innovation and automation
  • Lead or support incident response and issue resolution within the marketing analytics engineering scope, focusing on root cause analysis and prevention
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical or delivery risks within the team’s area of responsibility

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Directly manage and develop experienced engineering professionals, providing coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous learning aligned with organizational values
  • Support career development and skills growth within the analytics engineering team
  • Ensure consistency of experience for the team across onshore and offshore talent

Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Build effective working relationships with cross-enterprise stakeholders to support delivery of analytics and CX capabilities
  • Communicate technical concepts, progress, and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with peer leaders to remove cross-team blockers and support aligned execution

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Eight or more years of relevant software engineering experience
- Five or more years of experience leading a software engineering team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 or more years of relevant analytics or tag management engineering experience
  • 5 or more years of experience leading an engineering team
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, tools, and engineering best practices
  • Strong understanding of Agile ways of working
  • Strong understanding of and experience with analytics and tag management platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with business and analytics stakeholders
  • Experience applying engineering rigor to data quality, reliability, and operational stability
  • Experience ensuring compliance with privacy, data protection, and consumer consent regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA)
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Risk, and Audit teams to translate regulatory and policy requirements into scalable analytics architectures, governance models, and operational controls

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AdTech platforms and the related data flows
  • Experience leading marketing analytics and MarTech capabilities within a highly-regulated industry
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics (AA), Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), Tealium Tag Management, Tealium EventStream, Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Adobe Target (AT), and/or Adobe Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RT-CDP)
  • Experience with Quantum Metric and Qualtrics as CX tools

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
