The Role
We are seeking an experienced Grade 2 Dietitian to join our weekend and public holiday dietetics service on a casual basis. In this role, you will work independently and apply specialist-level clinical knowledge across key areas, including critical care (ICU) and gastrointestinal surgery.
Our dietetics service operates seven days per week, with weekend and public holiday shifts consisting of 4-hour services on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care while maintaining flexibility.
How you will make an impact:
You will play a vital role in improving patient outcomes by delivering high-quality, evidence-based nutrition care. Your expertise will support personalised nutrition planning, patient education, and collaborative care within multidisciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities:
Assess patients’ nutritional needs and develop individualised care plans
Provide nutrition education and counselling to patients and families
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives
Maintain contemporary knowledge of nutrition and dietetics best practice
About you
You are a passionate and experienced Dietitian with strong clinical expertise and a patient-centred approach. You communicate effectively, work well autonomously, and thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.
You will have:
Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate experience in an acute healthcare setting
Demonstrated experience in ICU and gastrointestinal surgery
Master’s degree in Dietetics
Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status with Dietitians Australia
Leadership experience within a specialised clinical area
Strong commitment to evidence-based practice, innovation, and ongoing professional development
