Location: Pune, India

Role Description

  • The DevOps Engineer will own end‑to‑end DevOps engineering for Java‑based microservices deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or on-prem native cloud.

  • The role focuses on CI/CD, cloud automation, container orchestration, observability, security, and operational excellence.

  • This includes CI/CD pipeline ownership, environment automation, container orchestration, observability, and enabling high availability, secure, and scalable cloud deployments.

  • The role requires strong collaboration with development teams, architecture, SRE, and infrastructure groups.

Your key responsibilities

  • Own and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for Java microservices.

  • Manage container platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, (containerization/orchestration) and OpenShift.

  • Ensure secure, scalable, and highly available GCP / on prem cloud deployments.

  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using New Relic, Geneos, Splunk, or cloud-native equivalents

  • Support incident, problems , change management and SDLC processes aligned with CI/CD and DevOps processes. Troubleshoot infrastructure and production issues, reducing MTTR.

  • Automate build, deployment, and release processes using Maven/Gradle, Git, and GCP-native services

  • Collaborate closely with development, SRE, architecture, and infrastructure teams for smooth integration of microservices, APIs, and distributed systems

  • Manage cloud resources, configurations, and secrets using IaC (Terraform).

  • Contribute to architecture discussions and operational readiness reviews

Your skills and experience

  • 12-15+ years of DevOps experience supporting Java-based enterprise systems. Strong background in cloud deployments, especially GCP.

  • Proven experience working in Agile/DevOps collaborative environments.


Technical / Functional Skills

  • CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for Java microservices

  • Strong experience with Core Java ecosystem (services, APIs, REST, microservices)

  • GCP, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, native/on-prem cloud

  • Proven hands on experience with GCP: Cloud Storage, CloudSQL / Spanner, Pub/Sub, Cloud Build / Artifact Registry

  • Practical experience with: Maven(build automation), Git / Bitbucket (version control), Jenkins (CI pipelines)

  • Monitoring tools: Splunk, New Relic, Geneos, or equivalents or cloud-native equivalents

  • Experience with API gateways, load balancers, and security patterns on GCP.

  • Knowledge of cloud networking, VPC design, firewall rules, and routing.

  • Familiarity with SRE practices such as SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, and resiliency engineering.


Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent.
