We’re on the lookout for a DevOps Engineer who’s passionate about building smart, scalable solutions that drive technical excellence and operational efficiency. In this role, you’ll design, implement, and maintain automation pipelines, cloud infrastructure services, and CI/CD workflows to streamline software development and delivery.

You’ll work closely with AI developers, infrastructure engineers, and security teams to ensure fast, reliable, and secure deployments—meeting regulatory requirements like APRA CPS 234 and ISO 27001, while adhering to industry best practices.

This will be a full time. fixed term 12 month contract (with the view to be made permanent) based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • CI/CD & Automation – Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and custom scripts to automate deployments across on-prem and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, VMware. Kubernetes).
  • Infrastructure as Code – Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform, automating provisioning, scaling, and recovery while ensuring alignment with APRA CPS 234 and ISO 27001.
  • Monitoring & Incident Response – Implement observability tools (Datadog, PRTG, Grafana, Prometheus & AWS/Azure native tools) to ensure system health, support incident response, and contribute to disaster recovery strategies.
  • Security & Compliance – Embed DevSecOps best practices, manage secrets via Azure Key Vault and AWS Secrets Manager, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in collaboration with Security teams.
  • Containerisation & Orchestration – Design, deploy, and manage containerised applications using Kubernetes (on-prem vanilla clusters), including optimising orchestration for scalability, performance, and security.
  • Collaboration & Documentation – Partner with AI, Security, and Infrastructure teams to integrate cloud strategies with ML/AI solutions, while maintaining robust documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.

ABOUT YOU

  • Full Australian working rights without restriction
  • 7+ years’ experience in IT, including 5+ years in DevOps, SRE or cloud infrastructure roles, delivering scalable, resilient solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience across AWS and Azure, including managing and optimising hybrid cloud environments.
  • Proven capability in infrastructure as code and automation using tools like Terraform and Ansible, along with scripting in Python, PowerShell or Bash.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with solid exposure to GitHub Actions and containerisation using Kubernetes.
  • Sound understanding of security and compliance, with experience embedding DevSecOps practices and working within frameworks such as APRA CPS 234, ISO 27001 and CIS benchmarks.
  • Demonstrated experience in disaster recovery planning and implementation, alongside strong capability in observability using tools like Datadog, Elastic or native cloud solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to document technical solutions, collaborate across teams and align technology outcomes with business objectives.
