As a DevOps Engineer within the Asset Finance EPT (Empowered Product Team) at NN Bank, you will play a key role in shaping the technology landscape of a financial institution that has recently undergone an exciting digital transformation. Based in The Hague, you will use your passion for automation and reliability engineering to support our Asset Finance professionals and help deliver highquality services to our customers and investors.
The Asset Finance team is the business owner of the OriginatetoDistribute (OtD) capabilities, including mortgage allocation, fulfilment monitoring, and investor servicing, with Mortgages acting as the originating domain. OtD is one of the strategic focus areas of NN Bank, and your work will directly contribute to its success by ensuring robust, automated, and wellcontrolled IT solutions.
You will work on Asset Finance applications and processes that enable straightthrough processing, timely and accurate investor reporting, and high data quality, all essential to operating a scalable and professional OriginatetoDistribute (OtD) business. This role is ideal for a DevOps Engineer who enjoys working close to the business, understands financial data flows, and takes ownership of stability, controls, and reliability in a regulated environment.
Why is this role unique?
Direct impact on NN Bank’s funding and investor reporting
Combination of DevOps, data, and financial processes
High ownership in a strategic OtD domain
Strong collaboration between IT and business
But at NN Bank, it’s not all hard work and no play. We believe in a good work-life balance and offer plenty of flexibility, along with opportunities for hybrid working, personal development and growth.
What you are going to do
In this role, you will manage our Asset Finance department’s applications and processes, which supports the following business capabilities;
Creation and management of (mortgage-asset-based) funding instruments like Securitizations and Covered bonds
Investor (and regulator) reporting related to these instruments
Portfolio reporting of loans sold under the Originate-to-Distribute programs
You will conduct data analysis and delivery and support the functional support team’s day-to-day operations, including frequent meetings with users. Other responsibilities include:
Managing the applications
Working towards team goals and supporting everyday processes and testing for colleagues in your Asset Finance team EPT
Driving continuous improvements and process automation
Executing Security Operations tasks to ensure that processes and applications are securely managed and in control

Who you are
You are an experienced DevOps Engineer who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and takes pride in making complex systems and data flows simpler, more reliable, and easier to work with. You feel comfortable operating in a complex application landscape, ask the right critical questions, and are able to work independently when needed, while always keeping the bigger picture in mind.
In this role, you will naturally take on a senior role within the team: contributing your experience, helping shape solutions, and supporting the development of medior and junior colleagues and you help raise the quality bar for the team. At the same time, you remain curious, approachable, and open to learning in a continuously evolving environment. You currently reside in the Netherlands.
You bring:
Solid experience working with businesscritical (financial) applications and integrations, preferably in a regulated or financial environment
Several years of relevant experience in a DevOps or similar role, enabling you to contribute effectively from day one
Strong stakeholder management skills, allowing you to collaborate smoothly with both business and IT colleagues
A collaborative mindset: you enjoy sharing knowledge, coaching others, and contributing to team maturity
Experience with documenting processes, controls, and test results, and clearly communicating outcomes and risks to stakeholders
Programming experience in one or more of the following: Python, SQL, PowerShell and/or Java; familiarity with Power BI and Agile ways of working is a plus
A positive, pragmatic attitude and the confidence to deal with challenges, priorities, and deadlines in a constructive way
Please apply even if you’re not sure you meet all our criteria. We are always interested in meeting candidates with unique talents.
Who you will work with
You will be part of the Asset Finance EPT (Empowered Product Team), a multidisciplinary team of Investment Professionals and IT specialists working closely together to achieve high investor satisfaction. As a team, we focus on delivering excellent service, ensuring timely and reliable investor reporting, and maintaining high data quality across our processes and platforms. We also value openness, knowledge sharing, and helping each other succeed.
In addition to your EPT, you will be an active member of the broader DevOps Community at NN Bank. This community values knowledge sharing, craftsmanship, and crossteam collaboration, offering plenty of opportunities to learn from peers, exchange ideas, and continuously improve how we work.
