Job Description Summary
The Development & Partnerships Fellow plays a key role in the identification, implementation and renewal of campus-wide partnerships. Working closely with campus constituents, department leadership, and external support staff, this individual supports revenue generation efforts through the cultivation of relationships with key university and athletics sponsors. This individual will also enhance the department’s fundraising efforts by assisting with gift reporting and building presentations intended to cultivate principal gift donors and drive contributions for upcoming capital projects. This is a fixed term position, beginning on/around August 3, 2026 and concluding July 31, 2027.Job Description
Essential Functions:
Corporate Partnership Efforts:
●Help drive the Partnerships team to effectively implement the Truist and Allegacy contracts,including providing key reporting, strategy, proposal presentations, and year-end recaps.
●Help support the renewal of the Atrium partnership to increase branding and revenue for WakeForest University and help Atrium leverage Wake Forest as its academic core.
●Help facilitate a University-wide partnerships group to coordinate efforts with other Universityconstituents (i.e., Business School, OPDC, HR, IS, and Finance).
●Help identify and prospect other university-wide partnerships to drive new revenue based onexisting University partners (i.e., pouring rights, automotive, wireless, construction, etc.).
●Help identify expiring agreements with University partners and collaborate with campusconstituents, department leadership, and external support staff to develop renewal strategies.
●Provide integrated support for Learfield partnership activation and help drive expandedpartnerships by assisting with the identification and coordination of upsell opportunities.
●Facilitate and attend in-person meetings with key internal and external University stakeholders.
Development & Fundraising Efforts:
●Effectively engage potential donors, building rapport and identifying their philanthropic
interests through outbound & inbound phone calls.
●Provide internal support for Principal Gift donors by conducting gift reporting and buildingpresentations for Athletics’ largest giving prospects.
●Support capital projects to help develop revenue plans and promotion plans for the broadercapital campaign.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with one year of relevant experience directly (including internships) related to the duties and responsibilities specified or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
● Ability to drive business while managing multiple client contacts and projects.
● Excellent digital communication skills with an emphasis on business writing.
● Highly proficient in Microsoft Office. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other related computer skills required.
● Ability to think strategically and manage time efficiently to prioritize work.
● Professional attitude and ability to multitask and adapt with positivity.
● Deep knowledge of or the ability to maintain deep knowledge of Wake Forest University, Wake Forest Athletics, and key University partners.
● Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, including but not limited to matters involving the attorney-client privilege, HIPAA, and FERPA. A confidentiality agreement is required for this position.
● Occasional evening and weekend work (primarily Football and Men’s Basketball home games).
