Job Description
Overview:
The Development Manager is directly involved in building our master planned communities, where we consider all the factors that contribute to an amazing quality of life for residents. We focus on design principles that create a growing community and promote a healthy lifestyle for everyone.
In this role, you will be responsible for the land development process, including production planning, detailed design and management, engineering regulatory approvals, and construction oversight. The Development Manager is responsible for cost accounting and controls for their respective projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and manage consultants in production planning, design and construction delivery
Monitor consultant and contractor performance to expected results
Administer contract obligations
Regular monitoring and inspection of all active construction site conditions, erosion control measures, show homes, and raw lands
Safety tracking and reporting as the need arises
Monitor monthly cost controls and develop forecasts and coordinate adjustments with Accounting
Prepare the business planning cycle and insights for the project portfolio
Maintain and champion open and knowledgeable communication with key partners, consultants, contractors and community residents
What You’ll Bring:
A diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or Business
3 to 5 years of proven experience in land development
Passion for the land development industry and construction
Proficient in project management, budgeting, cash forecasting, and cost control
Strong relationship builder, critical thinker and problem-solver
Proficient computer skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple competing priorities
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid Driver’s License required
