The Unified Communications Engineering team is looking for an enthusiastic Software developer with a passion for building and optimizing secure, reliable, scalable, and robust applications. 

As a Development Engineer, the candidate should have strong proficiency in Python, Golang, and modern fullstack development. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize applications that support critical communication services.You should be highly skilled in developing frontend web applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks such as React and Node.js, as well as building scalable backend services using Python and Golang.This role requires strong technical leadership, an ability to mentor junior developers, and a passion for building highquality, maintainable software. We welcome anyone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, and eager to learn latest opensource technologies and can build quick prototypes, review, and collaborate with engineers located across US and India.

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Collaborates with product owners, architects, and crossfunctional teams to gather product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration and system needs.  

  • Designs and develops scalable software applications and services using Python, Golang, and modern web frameworks.  

  • Translates UI/UX designs into highquality, reusable frontend components.  

  • Builds responsive, performant frontend applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and frameworks such as React.js.  

  • Develops and integrates backend APIs and microservices (Node.js, Express, Golang, Python).  

  • Participates in the full SDLC, including design reviews, code reviews, testing, and deployment.  

  • Works closely with Quality Assurance teams to validate functionality against technical   requirements.  

  • Conducts performance tuning and optimization across both frontend and backend components.  

  • Creates and maintains documentation including technical specifications, design documents, test plans, and release notes.  

  • Monitors competitive applications, industry trends, and emerging technologies to guide architectural decisions.  

  • Provides technical leadership and mentors junior software engineers on coding standards, best practices, and design patterns.  

  • Displays in-depth knowledge of modern engineering methodologies, Gitbased workflows, CI/CD processes, automated testing, and Agile practices.  

  • Demonstrates strong independent judgment in solving complex engineering problems.  

  • Regularly attends and contributes to sprint planning, design sessions, retrospectives, and crossteam collaboration efforts.  

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

 

 

Skillsets: 

 

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience  with strong proficiency in Python and Golang for backend development.  

  • Good experience developing frontend web applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS.  

  • Ability to translate UI/UX requirements into reusable, scalable frontend components.  

  • Experience optimizing frontend performance across browsers and devices.  

  • Handson experience integrating APIs and backend services (Node.js, Express, etc.).  

  • Skilled in modern frontend technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js.  

  • Strong problemsolving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.  

  •  Solid coding practices including peer code reviews, unit testing, and Agile development experience.  

  • Ability to prototype rapidly and iterate based on customer feedback. 

  • Ability to work with cross team members and take on complex tasks and resolve systems problems. 

  • The ability to prioritize tasks and multitask as needed 

  • Ability to communicate professionally and collegially with technical and management colleagues and team members 

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
  • Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Assists with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases.
  • Participates in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications.
  • Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.
  • Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
  • Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers.
  • Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
  • Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
