Team Global Express is seeking a hands-on and safety-focused Despatch Supervisor to lead our operations at the Dulux Merrifield paint production facility in Mickleham. In this critical role, you’ll oversee despatch operations and supervise a team of forklift drivers, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of freight.
As the Despatch Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of despatch activities, including planning, labour allocation, stakeholder engagement, and performance monitoring. You’ll play a key role in maintaining high safety standards, meeting service delivery targets, and fostering a collaborative relationship with our key customer, Dulux.
Supervise forklift drivers and subcontracted truck drivers (PUD tasks).
Plan daily despatch volumes and allocate labour and equipment accordingly.
Perform forklift operations and loading tasks as required.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate PUD and linehaul requirements.
Monitor and manage staff leave, absenteeism, and training compliance.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and legislative requirements.
Drive continuous improvement and cost-efficiency initiatives.
Maintain strong working relationships with Dulux and TGE stakeholders.
Attend and contribute to safety, planning, and training meetings.
Proven experience in warehouse or transport operations, ideally in a supervisory role.
Current forklift licence and hands-on forklift operation experience.
Strong understanding of WHS regulations and the Australian Dangerous Goods Code.
Excellent communication, planning, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to lead in high-pressure environments and drive continuous improvement.
Experience managing industrial relations matters is desirable.
