Desktop Support Technician
LOCATION: Markham, Ontario, Canada.
TRAVEL: Occasional travel to our other Toronto-area office.
SUMMARY:
Join Constellation Software’s Perseus Group (CSI) as a Desktop Support Technician, providing direct, hands-on technical support to end users across a dynamic, multi-location environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, resolving hardware and software issues, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
Provide first-line support for desktop, laptop (Windows and Mac), and mobile device issues, including hardware, software, and network connectivity problems.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Windows, macOS, and Office365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
Install, configure, and upgrade desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals for both Windows and Mac environments.
Maintain and follow Standard Operating Procedures for desktop support.
Record and update tickets in the helpdesk system, ensuring accurate documentation of issues and resolutions.
Assist with user account management, password resets, and access requests in Active Directory, Azure AD, and Apple Business Manager.
Support remote users via phone, email, and remote access tools.
Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as needed.
Technical Skills
Solid understanding of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11), macOS, and Microsoft Office365 suite.
Experience with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
Familiarity with endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune, SCCM, ABM for Mac management) is a plus.
Ability to support and troubleshoot common business applications on both Windows and Mac platforms.
Knowledge of security best practices for end-user devices.
Customer Service
Deliver exceptional customer service to all users, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
Provide training and guidance to users on common IT topics, including Mac-specific workflows.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Additional Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a desktop support or helpdesk role, supporting both Windows and Mac environments.
Familiarity with Microsoft Intune for device management, configuration, and support of end-user systems.
Strong documentation and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Required to work in the office 2-3 days per week.
Must have dependable transportation to travel locally and provide support at multiple office locations.
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours support.
Ability to work independently and as part of a geographically distributed team.
