Your Role
We are looking for a Designer to join our Charlotte office. This Designer will be working closely on Building Transformation & Adaptive Reuse, Government & Defense, Workplaces for professional services firms, Energy, and more. You will collaborate with your teammates to develop design solutions, as well as coordinate design through the construction documentation and construction administration phases of core and shell and interior architecture projects.
You will be successful because you already know how to translate sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. What You Will Do
Provide design support for completion/execution of design concepts
Provide solutions to design problems and generate design plans
Produce graphic presentations including 3D renderings and construction drawings
Contribute to the production of plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction
Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, lighting, and furniture specifications
Participate in the construction administration of project assignments, including quality control
Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
Review pricing, materials and customizations for projects
Ability to work fast and complete tasks efficiently and effectively
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in interior design or interior architecture from an accredited school required
1-3 years of experience required
Strong proficiency with Revit required
Computer skills should include AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Enscape
Knowledge of the design process, including FF+E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials
Conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas
Ability to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
Collaborative and team-conscious
Self-starting, responsible, and highly motivated individual
Excellent communication skills
The ideal candidate will be on the path towards NCIDQ certification
Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required. Portfolios should include at least 1 project with this particular focus, and candidates should be prepared to talk to this in their interview, especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwell and /or Net Zero Building certification
