In order to support Air Power Engineering Mission Systems, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a
Our team is developing IT-based Mission Support Systems for flying platforms, including the Eurofighter, A400M, Eurodrone and Tornado.
As part of Platform Operational Support, you will work in an agile environment, collaborating closely with German Air Force pilots and airworthiness authorities to ensure compliance and safety. You will drive airworthiness activities in partnership with the Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) and work within a self-organizing, international, and multidisciplinary team of system engineers, software developers, testers, and operational advisors.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities
Manage and ensure compliance of contracted capabilities according to airworthiness standards in collaboration with the Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE)
Participate in meetings with airworthiness authorities and internal/external stakeholders
Support the definition and improvement of development and verification processes
Provide airworthiness and systems engineering expertise throughout the lifecycle of mission support software projects, including: System concept definition, System design, Requirements engineering, System test & qualification
Ensure customer satisfaction, technical correctness, and process adherence
Potential career progression to CVE for Mission Support Systems after 1 year, subject to performance, completion of internal trainings, and assessment by the Head of Airworthiness
Desired Skills and Qualifications
Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience as a System Engineer in software systems
Experience in developing safety-critical software at system and/or software level
Profound knowledge of software development standards, including:
DO-178(B/C)
DO-278(A)
EF-System and Software Development Standard
Or equivalent avionic standards
Strong team player with independent working methods and high quality awareness
Fluent in German and English (negotiation level)
Bonus qualifications: Experience with Mission Support Systems (military or civil applications)
