Here's what we're looking for:

As our Design Operations Lead you have a strong background in design operations for digital products, have excellent communication skills and are able to flex from being strategic to tactical. You should be capable of leading the operations of the full design process from concept exploration, to research, all the way through to the delivery of experiences that benefit our customers. You will focus on strategy, process, tools, collaboration, and success metrics. Your focus will include our Design System, asset management, tools management, collaborative partnerships with other UX organizations, intake estimation, design metrics and measures of UX success.

You will need to be comfortable with ambiguity in the face of design and operations challenges, and know how to move toward the right solution as part of a team. You understand how to create healthy design processes that yield high-quality results with incredibly happy designers. You will be in lockstep with product, engineering, and other functions to ensure the progress and growth of our products and processes.

Additionally, this role requires great collaboration and cross functional communication skills evangelizing product design throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is self-directed, and can work independently through ambiguity to create clarity for themselves, and the larger User Experience organization!

Your upcoming mission:

  • Lead the Design Operations function, ensuring effective decision making, cross-functional collaboration and a positive team environment

  • Own tooling for the design team, managing relationships with software vendors, contract renewals, introducing new tools and training the team

  • Facilitate communication to cross functional stakeholders to reinforce the design process, design system, and best practices.

  • Work with a highly capable team of UX researchers and designers to invent and iterate on experiences that start and end with the user

  • Facilitate design quality through consistent tools and processes

  • Create compelling presentations to communicate User Experience and Design Operations

  • As a core member of the Design System Governance Team, represent and advocate for the navify product perspective and requirements

  • Driving momentum by keeping the overall work portfolio and team on track

  • Overseeing the strategic and tactical prioritization of design initiatives and workflows

  • Determining and implement process improvements

  • Creating and implementing measurement plans and ensuring quality for successful delivery

  • Collaboration liaison with UX teams in other business areas

  • Evangelize the impact of design with business partners by embracing and advocating for an experience design mindset

  • Lead UX Communications both within our UX team, and beyond to our broader organization

  • Work seamlessly with UX designers, whether part of the in-house team or an external agency

  • Craft a consistent message of the role and value of design, and proactively share that message with our design partners

  • Capturing and sharing success stories of user-centered design processes

  • On-boarding for new joiners to the UX Design & Validation team
     

Essential skills for your mission:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience (educational and/or professional), with a thorough understanding and appreciation of Design and UX processes and disciplines

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to work swiftly, efficiently, prioritize tasks and workload on behalf of the team, and keep track of multiple streams of work

  • Comprehensive knowledge of product development calendars and milestones

  • You are well versed in design fundamentals

  • You are both imaginative and pragmatic

  • You have the ability to work effectively as a leader and member of a cross-functional team

  • You have a good understanding of user behavior and/or experience transferring behavioral analytic data to design components

  • High degree of creativity and problem solving from big picture to little details, you move nimbly between strategy and execution

  • You apply strategic thinking and business goals to designs, focusing on user feedback, and understand the relation of visual design to the interaction

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; equally at ease speaking with development teams or executives when articulating and advocating design

  • Passionate about resolving user pain points through great design

  • You have a positive attitude, open mind, and a desire to collaborate and learn

  • Knowledge of tools and applications such as, Figma, Lucid, Jira and the like

  • BA/BS degree in related field

  • Experience working in an agile methodology environment is preferred. SAFe knowledge and certification is a plus

In Austria, we have a legal obligation to disclose the minimum salary according to our collective agreement, which is gross EUR 3.843  - per month for this position. But! Rest assured, we offer amazing competitive compensation packages which take into consideration current market trends, therefore you can expect a higher offer that reflects your experience level.
