POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

The Denim Design Manager is responsible for managing the design & development of the global offering for all Calvin Klein Women’s Denim product categories within the Outlet and Off-Price channels.  As the Design Manager for Women's Denim, you will be an integral part of the design team in supporting the creation of stylish and trendsetting denim collections. Your role will involve managing the design process for ideating and interpreting seasonal design direction, conducting research, and contributing to the development of denim designs that align with the brand's vision, market trends, and customer preferences. You will work with design, merchandising and supply partners, gain valuable experience, and play a significant role in elevating the brand's women's global denim offerings. Additionally, you will manage and guide growth to an entry level designer.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

1.          Design Support:

·       Collaborate with the director to create sketches, illustrations, and technical drawings for women's denim garments, including jeans, jackets, shorts, skirts, shirts and dresses.

·       Leads in brainstorming sessions and concept ideation to develop new and innovative denim designs.

·       Manage and organize design development line sheets, wash charts and CADs.

·       Ability to meet overlapping deadlines, strong time management skills and proactive problem solving. 

·       Manage and empower growth for entry level designer while ensuring work and deadlines are being met

2.        Trend Research and Analysis:

·       Conduct research on denim trends, wash techniques, fabrications, and runway relevant to women's denim.

·       Stay updated with the latest market trends and customer preferences in women's denim fashion and fits.

·       Works with Director on building out seasonal ideas, sketches and wash standards.

3.        Material and Wash Selection:

·       Conducts communicating on development on fabrics, washes, trims, and embellishments for garment prototypes and production.

·       Works closely with supply and fabric team for sampling and fabric ordering.

·       Manage the creation of building out seasonal wash ranges and sample fabric ordering

4.        Tech Pack Creation:

·       Responsible for the creation and managing of tech packs, design specifications and bill of material for denim development samples and production.

·       Facilitating and owning design pass offs with technical design team from design details to construction. 

5.        Sample Review and Fit Sessions:

·       Attends sample reviews and fit sessions to provide feedback on the fit, construction, and design details of denim prototypes.

6.        Collaboration and Communication:

·       Responsible for communication with cross-functional teams, including product developers and merchandisers, to ensure seamless execution of development and bulk.

·       Proactively communicates with director on status updates and timelines in a timely manner to ensure deadlines and needs are being meet.

7.        Brand Alignment:

·       Understand and maintain the brand's design aesthetic and language in all women's denim products.

·       Collaborate with the design team and brand team to ensure consistency in storytelling and branding across denim collections.

8.        Trend Presentation:

·       Prepares trend presentations and mood boards to inspire and inform the design process.

·       Presents design sketches and story boards during internal sketch reviews and assortment meetings, including merchandisers and design leadership

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

·        7-11 years design experience

 

Skills:      

·       Previous experience in corporate fashion design, with a focus on women's denim.

·       Proficient in design software and tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Centric, PLM, Excel and Miro

·       Ability to meet overlapping deadlines, strong time management skills and proactive problem solving. 

·       Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented

·       Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while staying flexible

·       Knowledge in denim fabrication, wash, fit and garment construction

·       Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively present ideas

·       Welcomes new challenges with optimism and patience.

 

 

 

Pay Range:$99,500---$141,200

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills. Additional Compensation: This role is bonus eligible.
