Aurecon’s Buildings practice is continuing to grow, and we’re seeking an experienced Principal or Director to lead the delivery of Health projects that redefine how people experience healthcare.
You’ll bring deep technical, mechanical building services understanding, design management capability, and the confidence to influence decisions at every stage, from strategy and planning to delivery and operations. As a trusted advisor, you’ll work with government, private sector, and health clients to turn complex challenges into meaningful, measurable outcomes.
Here’s how you’ll bring ideas to life:
- Leadership & direction: Guide multidisciplinary design teams across major hospital and health infrastructure projects.
- Client influence: Partner with senior stakeholders to shape project strategy, ensuring design intent aligns with operational and clinical outcomes.
- Technical depth: Engage in detailed technical discussions across building services, health planning and architecture to deliver integrated, high-performing designs.
- Design management: Oversee project delivery from concept to completion, balancing innovation, risk, and value for clients.
- Strategic growth: Help define Aurecon’s national Health strategy, building trusted relationships and expanding our presence in the health sector.

What you’ll bring:
- 15+ years’ experience leading major Health or complex building projects in Australia.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary design teams and deliver projects aligned with client, clinical, and operational goals.
- Strong technical grounding in building design, services integration, and project governance.
- Strong technical experience in mechanical and medical gas design on major health projects.
- Demonstrated experience in client relationship management, business development, and influencing project outcomes at senior levels.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
