Job Title: Design Engineer

Purpose of Role:
As part of our growth strategy at Weir, we are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join our team in Baden and contribute to the design, development and implementation of auxiliary systems in line with the requirements of our range of Stirred Mills. This role will collaborate across global teams and with OEM partners to ensure delivery of high-performance, energy-efficient, and reliable solutions for both Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket projects. You will be involved in shaping the future of sustainable mining through innovation in electrical design and systems integration.

Key Responsibilities:
Product development of the stirred mill range including design and selection of 3rd party supplied auxiliary systems and components.
Project support on running projects as required.
Cross-functional Integration: Collaborate with internal teams such as R&D, manufacturing, procurement, and project management to support effective product lifecycle development.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Education: With suitable tertiary education in an engineering field. Mechanical is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in mechanical engineering, ideally in the mining, heavy machinery, or industrial sectors. Experience with stirred mills is a plus.
Software Skills: Proficient in MS Office and programming systems such as those supplied by Siemens and Rockwell.
Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and functions.
Problem-solving: Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to solving complex engineering problems.
