The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Design Engineer to be responsible for designing and developing engineering solutions, creating detailed design specifications and drawings to ASME standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of projects for our military customer. You will have a strong background in engineering principles, SolidWorks software proficiency, and the ability to innovate and solve complex problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed design specifications and technical drawings using CAD software.

  • Develop and optimize engineering solutions to meet project requirements.

  • Conduct feasibility studies and perform technical analysis to support design decisions.

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.

  • Develop prototypes and conduct testing to validate design concepts.

  • Analyze test results and make necessary adjustments to improve design performance.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of design processes, specifications, and changes.

  • Create and update technical manuals and user guides as needed.

  • Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in engineering design.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).

  • Minimum of 3 or more years of experience in a design engineering or related role.

  • Minimum of 1 or more years of experience with SolidWorks software and simulation software.

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and design methodologies.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Work onsite in San Antonio, TX

  • Willing and able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Current and active Secret clearance preferred.

Desired:

  • Experience with ASME Y14 Standards.

  • Experience with AutoCAD software.

  • Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to travel domestically on occasion

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$60,100 - $123,200
