DERMATOLOGY TECHNICIAN I
JOB SUMMARY
The Dermatology Technician I functions as a member of the healthcare team by providing clinical and technical support to assist providers in providing for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The individual completes basic procedures as requested by the provider and assists providers with procedures. The Dermatology Technician I performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System’s mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: One of the following:
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program.
Documented successful completion of the following courses (or their recognized course equivalent): (1) Medical Terminology from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class, (2) Anatomy & Physiology or Body Structure & Function or Human Body in Health & Disease from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class, and (3) Pharmacology from an accredited institution.
Two years of Medical Assistant-related work experience and completion of the required educational courses listed above within the first 12 months from hire.
Preferred/Optional: Experience in healthcare.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
Preferred/Optional: BLS certification awarded by the AHA at time of hire.

JOB SUMMARY
The Dermatology Technician II functions as a member of the healthcare team by providing clinical and technical support to assist providers in providing for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The individual completes basic procedures and light treatments as requested by the provider and assists providers with procedures. The Dermatology Technician II performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System’s mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: One of the following:
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program.
Documented successful completion of the following courses (or their recognized course equivalent): (1) Medical Terminology from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class, (2) Anatomy & Physiology or Body Structure & Function or Human Body in Health & Disease from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class, and (3) Pharmacology from an accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: One year experience as a Dermatology Technician. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Successful completion of the Marshfield Clinic Health System’s dermatology advancement test.
