Your mission

Pierre Fabre Medical Care is seeking an experienced Dermatology Project Leader to drive scientific strategies and excellence across innovative dermatology drug discovery programs. In this role, you will shape early‑stage research and translational strategies, and support the progression of novel therapeutic candidates toward early clinical development.

Dermatology is a strategic priority for the Pierre Fabre Group, and this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing pipeline supported by both internal innovation and external partnerships.

The position is based in Toulouse, France, with flexibility for commuting from France/Europe and partial remote work.

Your role within a pioneering company in full expansion:

  • Lead dermatology drug discovery programs, shaping and implementing research strategies to advance new therapeutics from early discovery through early clinical development within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide scientific team and lab supervision, including mentoring of research associates, overseeing experimental design and execution, and ensuring high standards of quality data and documentation
  • Collaborate closely with experts in translational research, drug discovery, clinical development, and data science and PK/Toxicology to ensure effective plan implementation, management of timelines and deliverables, budget oversight, and risk mitigation across preclinical and early clinical phases.
  • Oversee internal and external resources in partnership with project management, and coordinate the preparation and submission of high-quality documentation for reviews and decision-making.
  • Contribute to the scientific evaluation of external R&D opportunities and partnerships, including academic collaborations, biotech alliances, and in-licensing opportunities.
  • Identify and assess emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities in immuno-dermatology research to continuously strengthen the portfolio.

This position is compatible with teleworking up to 2 days a week according to company rules.

    Who you are ?

    Your skills at the service of innovative projects:

    • PhD or MD/PhD with postdoctoral training in immunology, dermatology, or cellular and molecular biology.
    • 5-10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
    • Proven track record in leading dermatology drug discovery programs from preclinical stages through early clinical development,
    • Deep knowledge of skin biology, ideally in the context of inflammatory and immune‑mediated skin diseases.
    • Strong expertise with advanced immune biomarker approaches and tissue-based technologies (e.g., NGS, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, multi‑omics).

    Leadership Competencies

    • Demonstrated ability to lead immuno‑dermatology programs within a matrixed, cross‑functional organization.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team‑building skills fostering collaborative and inclusive scientific environments.
    • Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making abilities with a focus on translational and clinical relevance.
    • Capacity to set ambitious goals, prioritize effectively, and drive high‑quality outcomes, aligned with project and portfolio objectives.
    • Active engagement with scientific and clinical advancements to maintain alignment with industry best practices and biomedical trends.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
