Derivatives Operation Analyst

Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Derivatives Operation Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of trade data, validating trades, and supporting the overall trade lifecycle. This role is critical in maintaining operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate and confirm trade details between internal systems and counterparty trade recaps to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with front, middle, and back office teams, as well as IT, Accounting, brokers, custodians, counterparties, and offshore teams to resolve breaks, workflow issues, and suspense items.
  • Monitor and report on trade validation and confirmation metrics and performance indicators.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely settlement of trades across various financial instruments.
  • Perform pre‑settlement and post‑settlement investigations and dispute resolution using Markit and signed confirmations, including amendments to system setup errors as required.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end reporting, reconciliations, audits, and ad hoc internal requests.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, standard settlement instructions, and regulatory and operational controls while maintaining strong external relationships.
  • Maintain and enhance process documentation, propose and test process improvements, and contribute to the ongoing capacity and effectiveness of Global Derivatives Services.
  • Coordinate with the Accounting team to resolve suspense breaks during reconciliation periods and assist the business unit in collating supporting documentation for annual audit requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • College / University graduate (preferably Math, Business, Finance or related fields) with minimum 2 to 3 years' work experience in Banking, Finance and/or Investments field
  • Operational experience in functions related to Investments / Market Operations such as reconciliations, settlements, collateral management and suspense.
  • Basic knowledge of financial markets and the language and terminology used in Investment Management
  • Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) and must be willing to work on a night shift schedule

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possesses an understanding of the pre-trade and post trade process including trade allocation, matching, confirmation, settlements and reconciliation for financial products
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite and knowledgeable of MS office.
  • Solid organizational skills and a high degree of professionalism combined with the ability to readily adapt to rapidly changing environments and deal with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an environment where procedures and controls are required
  • Strong computer skills, with ability to learn and easily adapt to new application.
  • High level of accuracy, and ability to analyze complex trade data and identify discrepancies.
  • Proactively identify issues and develop solutions.
  • Client focused with the ability to understand the requirements of clients
  • Must have the ability to create and maintain strong relationships with people at all levels and different functions throughout the organization and with external partners
  • Quick learner and solutions oriented, ability to escalate issues to management
  • Ability to react quickly and meet tight deadlines maintaining accuracy and thoroughness
  • Excellent English skills, both oral and written, with strong comprehension skills to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate initiative and team player
  • Ability to adapt to changes, and set priorities
