Job Summary: This vacancy is for a GS-0340-14, Deputy WMEC Product Line Manager located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OPERATING LOCATION-SFLC WMEC PROGRAM DEPOT MAINT BRANCH-NORFOLK VA in Norfolk, VA.

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as a Deputy WMEC Product Line Manager and be responsible for serving as the deputy to the WMEC Product Line Manager (PLM) in the Medium Endurance Cutter Product Line (WMEC) by providing ongoing management continuity and performing a variety of duties that manage requirements for budget, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support the WMEC Vessel System.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Consults with technical specialists in the Product Line (PL) or Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) staff organizations, vendors, contractors, and customers. Serves as a coequal with the military Product Line Manager (PLM) Provides first and second level supervision to approximately 35 military members and 35 civilians, and 20 contractor personnel. Supports 28 operational vessel platforms with $14M onboard inventory, $55M ICP parts inventory, $70M in maintenance accounts and million dollar plus operating budget

Qualifications: Basic Requirements: You MUST meet the following requirements: To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Experience providing senior level administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work. Experience establishing unique methods and applications that provide innovative solutions to complex business issues. Experience coordinating and directing the accomplishment of all functions comprising the assigned mission of the organization, encompassing extremely large, difficult, and diverse programs and projects.
