Deputy Training Director
Location: Reston, VA (On-site with hybrid flexibility)
Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Leidos is seeking a Deputy Training Director to work with the Training Director in leading the design, development, and execution of a comprehensive training enterprise for a large, mission-critical classified program within the Mission Solutions Business Area of the National Security Sector. Embedded within the Program Management Office (PMO), the Deputy Training Director will be responsible for building, executing, and sustaining a multi-tiered curriculum that supports contractors across a broad range of labor categories and experience levels, from entry-level professionals to senior experts.
The Deputy Training Director will provide leadership in developing dynamic, scalable training programs that meet evolving customer requirements while ensuring contractor readiness, compliance, and professional growth. This role requires expertise in both traditional and modern delivery methods, including in-person instruction, online synchronous training, and asynchronous e-learning modules. The selected candidate will work closely with the Training Director, PMO leadership, customer representatives, and functional managers to ensure training directly supports mission success.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee a multi-level, tiered training curriculum tailored to labor categories and contractor experience levels across the program.
- Develop and oversee integrated leadership and change-management training for first-line leaders to strengthen organizational adaptability and support successful transformation efforts.
- Design and implement dynamic training programs that address customer requirements, compliance standards, and evolving mission needs.
- Leverage a mix of delivery modalities—including classroom instruction, online synchronous training, and asynchronous self-paced learning—to maximize accessibility and effectiveness.
- Partner with PMO leadership, customer stakeholders, and functional managers to align training objectives with contract requirements and mission outcomes.
- Assess training needs through workforce analysis, performance reviews, and customer feedback; adapt programs to fill skills gaps.
- Build and manage a team of trainers, instructional designers, and subject matter experts to execute training programs at scale.
- Implement metrics-driven training assessments to measure effectiveness, improve content, and demonstrate value to leadership and customers.
- Ensure all training programs are fully compliant with labor category definitions, contractual obligations, and applicable government/IC standards.
- Introduce innovative learning technologies, tools, and practices to enhance training delivery and learner engagement.
- Provide regular executive-level briefings and reporting on training status, outcomes, and emerging needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education, Training, Human Resources, or related field and 10+ years of experience relevant to the contract.
- Demonstrated success in designing and managing enterprise-level training programs for large, complex contracts in the Intelligence Community or Defense sector.
- Expertise in instructional design methodologies and delivery of in-person, synchronous online, and asynchronous training.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage teams, and deliver results under tight timelines.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience leading training programs for a large-scale, cleared workforce.
- Experience building asynchronous training in Captivate.
- Certification in instructional design, adult learning, or related discipline (e.g., CPLP, ATD, Kirkpatrick evaluation).
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning technologies.
- Proven ability to innovate in training delivery to enhance engagement, retention, and workforce readiness.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $116,350.00 - $210,325.00
