Major Duties:
- The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson SFB, Colorado Spring, Colorado is searching for a Deputy System Program Manager for Battlespace Intelligence (NH-1101-04, GS-14/15 Equivalent). We are looking for an expert-level Program Manager to serve as a key leader within our Battlespace Intelligence System Program. At its core, Battlespace Intelligence is about achieving information dominance. It's the art and science of integrating multi-source intelligence-from satellite reconnaissance and electronic signals to on-the-ground reports-to provide commanders with a complete, real-time picture of the operational environment. You won't just be managing a program; you will be acquiring the very systems that collect, process, and disseminate this critical intelligence, ensuring our forces can see, understand, and act faster than our adversaries. To succeed in this role, you aren't just a leader; you are a practitioner who understands the intricate machinery of the intelligence and acquisition worlds. We are looking for a candidate with recent Space Intelligence Operations experience who is familiar with the tools our warfighters use every day, such as FADE/MIST, COLISEUM, Minerva, and other IC tools. Your expertise will extend to the operational cycles these tools support, including Battle Management, Command and Control (BMC2), and Targeting. Crucially, you will navigate the complex intersection of operations and bureaucracy. A deep understanding of the DoD acquisition cycle and the strategic foresight to influence the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) process are essential. Your leadership will be grounded in a practical understanding of how our organization runs, from leveraging the Space Force task management system to tracking how money flows through the financial system into a specific Program Element (PE). A firm grasp of the nuances between the National Intelligence Program (NIP) and Military Intelligence Program (MIP) funding processes is critical for success. In this role, you will have the autonomy to solve highly complex problems, develop long-range strategic plans, and make authoritative decisions that have a direct and lasting impact. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of military, civilian, and industry experts, mentoring subordinate supervisors and forging a high-performing organization. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition management process and initiatives. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process. 4. Skill to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of development and production, support of systems, subsystems, or equipment and to coordinate various aspects of systems acquisition such as engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration, test, and manufacturing. 5. Ability to supervise, mentor, motivate, appraise, and work with subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases, gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organization management and contractors.
