Deputy Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

Project Management Support

  • Support the Project Manager in day-to-day management of the project execution.
  • Track project schedule, milestones, action items, risks, and key deliverables.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project priorities.
  • Monitor project progress and identify delays, gaps, and risks early.
  • Follow up on pending technical, commercial, and execution issues to ensure timely closure.
  • Support preparation of project status updates, management reports, meeting minutes, and presentations.

Site Execution and Coordination

  • Coordinate construction activities, equipment installation, MEP works, utility integration, and site readiness activities.
  • Support interface management between civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, process, IT, control system, and utility works.
  • Monitor contractor performance on site, including productivity, safety, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in site inspections, progress review meetings, and technical discussions.
  • Escalate critical site issues to the Project Manager with clear recommendations.

Contractor and Vendor Management

  • Support review and follow-up of contractor schedules, method statements, shop drawings, and progress reports.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for delivery schedules, installation planning, and technical clarification.
  • Ensure proper communication and coordination between owner-supplied packages and site construction activities.
  • Support verification of scope boundaries to avoid gaps and overlaps between contractors.

Cost, Change, and Documentation Control

  • Support tracking of project budget, variation orders, claims, and potential cost impacts.
  • Assist in reviewing progress claims, change requests, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain proper project records, logs, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
  • Ensure project documentation is organized and updated for decision-making and audit trail purposes.

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure construction activities are aligned with site safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with EHS, consultants, and contractors to address safety and compliance issues.
  • Support quality control follow-up, punch list management, testing, commissioning, and handover preparation.
  • Help ensure project execution complies with relevant standards, specifications, and local regulatory requirements.

Permits, Authorities, and Regulatory Coordination

  • Manage, coordinate, and follow up project-related permits, licenses, notifications, and approvals required from relevant authorities.
  • Prepare, compile, and submit required documents to government agencies, industrial estate authorities, and other relevant regulators.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure permit submissions are complete, accurate, and on time.
  • Track permit status, approval timelines, and key regulatory requirements to avoid impact to project schedule.
  • Support communication and meetings with relevant authorities as required.
  • Ensure project execution complies with applicable laws, regulations, codes, and authority requirements.

Commissioning and Handover Support

  • Support planning and coordination for testing, commissioning, startup readiness, and handover activities.
  • Work closely with internal users, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operation.
  • Track open items, punch points, and completion status prior to handover.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in project management, construction management, factory setup, industrial plant projects, or large-scale building systems.
  • Strong experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Industrial construction projects
    • Production Plant setup
    • Mechanical and electrical systems
    • Utilities and infrastructure systems
    • Equipment installation and site coordination
  • Experience working in multinational companies or with international project stakeholders is preferred.
  • Good understanding of project controls, schedule tracking, contractor coordination, and construction site execution.
  • Familiarity with industrial project environments, including safety, quality, permits, and commissioning requirements.
  • Good command of English and Thai, both written and spoken.

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following will be especially suitable:

  • Chemical plant, manufacturing plant, or industrial facility projects
  • MEP systems for factories or large commercial/industrial buildings
  • Brownfield or greenfield factory construction
  • Owner-side project management or EPC/PMC support roles
  • Commissioning, startup, and handover coordination

Contract Duration

  • 12 months contract, dedicated to Project Chang
  • Extension subject to project needs and performance

Key Success Factors for This Role

  • Ability to reduce workload from the Project Manager by independently driving coordination and follow-up
  • Strong control of site progress, interfaces, and action closure
  • Early identification of risks and practical mitigation support

Good discipline in documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication
