The Opportunity:
The Deputy Operations Manager provides critical support and oversight to the Operations Director, assisting with mission system-level leadership, guidance, and accountability of the entire operations team. This role ensures the team is adequately staffed and trained to support system operations 24 x 7 x 365. The Deputy Operations Director helps manage all aspects of mission execution, seeks improvements and efficiencies, establishes and maintains standards of operation, works closely with the engineering team on the integration of new system capabilities, and assists in managing the operator training and certification program.
Responsibilities:
Support the Operations Director in ensuring the operations team is adequately staffed and trained.
Assist in interfacing with the Government customer mission operations management team.
Help monitor operations team performance and determine corrective courses of action.
Assist in managing the quality control of technical input for problem reports or discrepancy reports.
Investigate and rectify procedural discrepancies by supporting remedial training, updating operational or engineering procedures, and maintaining current/accurate operator working aids.
Identify areas of process improvement and foster an environment where operations team members are empowered to propose improvements.
Support strategic planning, resource allocation, and performance management within the operations team.
Act as a point of escalation for complex issues and decisions requiring higher-level intervention.
Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to the development of operational policies and procedures.
Mentor and develop junior operations staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
Required:
A TS/SCI with minimum Polygraph is required to begin employment. As a requirement of continued employment, you may be required to obtain a higher-level polygraph.
Experience in managing operations teams supporting real-time 24x7 watch operations.
Understanding of satellite infrastructure and satellite communication systems.
Proven experience in a leadership role within operations or mission support functions.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, dynamic environment.
Experience with process improvement methodologies.
Strong leadership and management skills.

Pay Range:
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$90,300 - 189,600 USD
