1.  JOB PURPOSE

Responsible person for analysing customer information, competitor movement/strategies, pricing, volume building and contributing towards Portfolio enhancement and Current vehicle animation.

Support Future project Milestone for NISSAN models in Upstream stage. Additionally preparing and supporting proposals for clearing various milestones for Product strategy meetings.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

1. Product Definition

Support in identifying opportunities with customer unmet needs, In Depth study for Customer Lifestyle , demographics, Emotional aspirational needs evolution, propose new product requests for AMI region, Justify and get new projects for the region

Analysis of Vehicle segments, NCBS, UNS, ALS, other Market Intelligence reports to define the future product

Feature , Non feature understanding , Pricing, Volume , Grade walk building.

Ability to define product performance requirements in line / benchmarking competition.

2. Product Planning Milestone Responsibility

Define Focus Target Customer key needs 

Identify Strategic Competitive Advantage

Support in defining Concept Statement

Support in defining key hardware specs to realise Concept (including vehicle platform, Body Type & others)

Define Design Expression/Direction Hypothesis

Validate & fine tune Focus Target Customer, Strategic Advantage, Concept & design thru’ customer survey

3. Life cycle Planning  

Obtain consumer feedback from Market Intelligence through surveys, research and data checking to determine customer needs and price ranges 

Propose Life events for each projects to keep model refreshments and competitiveness with changing market and competition environment. It includes (Minor change , MY events , Special Editions etc)

Track competition movement and strategies and ensure competitive advantage is secured in current and future vehicles

4. Propose and synergize with other key stakeholders and get relevant products into the market

Coordinate with key stakeholders such as Engineering, Program director, Program management office, CPS, AMIEO Product Planning, Product Marketing, CVE, NML Japan etc...

Propose concepts planned based on region market study to the CPS  and provide detailed rationale

Challenge to CPS in order to secure product competitiveness, design, spec and performance.

Synergize with NML to ensure that the concepts are in sync with the corporate norms and the Region customer requirements

3.   MAJOR CHALLENGES

Describe the major challenges you face in carrying out your job, and what you do in order to overcome them.

Time and Manpower constraint, This is super challenging task and has to be accomplished with speed while maintain quality of output.

Need travelling to various places in India as well as to regional locations as needed, customer interactions, Creative environment to think out of box. But current job pressure & location allows lesser freedom to move.

Secure approval for key milestone in stipulated time Approval in Key Milestone of required proposals Current line up Model refreshments to maintain customer excitement for the product Keep Product consistency in line with Brand Direction : Features , Performance , Design etc                  

6.     SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

              Strong Industry Knowledge, Automobile Technical – Analytical skills, Good understanding of Automobile business model &  Process , Strategies – After thorough analysis of customers / Market trends/ Competition – Able to propose right product strategy  in line with  business requirement as well as refreshment of existing models

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

BE Mechanical, Automobile from reputed institute with MBA preferred

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Experience in Automotive manufacturing company preferably in Product Planning / Product Marketing / Marketability team

Experience: : 8 ~ 10 Years

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS & BEHAVIOURS

Highly self-motivated and passionate  Should be speedy in his/her actions , negotiation & assertive skills Interpersonal skill to deal with different countries & market (Close communication with Japan, Middle East, South Africa, etc will be required) Comprehension of AMI auto market situation/environment. Good Computer Skills including Excel, PowerPoint, etc Good Driving Skills, Has a Passport, OK for Travelling Flexible, can adapt and deliver in high pressure situations
