As a Deputy Manager – Indirect Tax, you will be a key member of the finance leadership ecosystem, ensuring compliance excellence and supporting strategic decision-making in a dynamic, multi-business environment. This opportunity allows you to build and strengthen the company’s indirect tax framework while collaborating across functions such as supply chain, procurement, sales, and operations.
Your expertise in GST and indirect tax governance will help shape tax-efficient business processes, reduce risks, and contribute directly to the company’s financial performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in Indirect Taxation (GST, customs, legacy laws) with an MNC company or a reputed CA Firm/Law Firm in their Indirect tax division.

  • Professional qualification preferred: CA Inter / CMA Inter/ MBA (Finance)

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP

  • Deep understanding of GST law, rules, notifications, ITC mechanisms, place of supply, e-invoicing, and e-way bill compliance.

  • Proven experience in return filings, reconciliations, assessments, and departmental audits.

  • Strong command over indirect tax accounting, ledger reviews, and monthly closings.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to communicate complex tax matters in a clear, business‑friendly manner.

  • Ownership, attention to detail, and a process-improvement mindset.

  • Collaboration and stakeholder management skills across functions.

How You Will Thrive and Create an Impact

  • Ensure Compliance Excellence - Lead accurate and timely filing of all GST returns—GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-6 (if applicable), GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C. Drive accuracy in tax payments, ITC validations, reconciliations (GSTR-2B books), and adherence to statutory timelines.

  • Strengthen Internal Controls & Processes - Implement best practices, improve tax accounting accuracy, and enhance internal controls. Lead automation initiatives for GST reporting, data analytics, and reconciliation tools.

  • Support Business Decision-Making - Provide advisory support to procurement, sales, logistics, and commercial teams. Review contracts, pricing structures, import transactions, and vendor/customer agreements for tax implications.

  • Manage Litigation & Risk - Prepare responses to notices, manage departmental audits, and coordinate with external advisors. Ensure risk mitigation, minimal exposure, and robust documentation for assessments.

  • Contribute to Strategic Tax Planning - Stay updated with regulatory changes and assess their impact on operations. Recommend tax‑efficient operational structures and compliance enhancements.

  • Indirect Tax Compliance - Monthly and annual GST return filings. Reconciliation of ITC and vendor follow-ups. E-invoicing and e-way bill monitoring.

  • Indirect Tax Accounting & Reporting - Review tax ledgers, provisions, accruals, and GL validation. Monthly tax dashboards for management.

  • Audits & Litigation - Support GST audits, departmental inquiries, and assessments. Draft replies, coordinate with consultants/counsels, and track progress.

  • Business Partnering - Guide teams on tax classification, applicable rates, and documentation. Review business transactions for GST alignment.

  • Controls, Governance & Automation - Develop SOPs and improve compliance workflows. Identify areas for automation and efficiency improvement.
