Role Summary:
The Deputy Manager – EXIM Sourcing will be responsible for managing procurement and contracting across export-import logistics services. The role involves end-to-end sourcing strategy, vendor management, and operational support for EXIM logistics including freight, warehousing, and customs-related services. The individual will play a key role in ensuring cost optimization, service reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Roles and Responsibility:
Procurement & Contract Management
Manage sourcing, negotiation, and contracting for CFS (Container Freight Station) and CHA (Custom House Agent) services
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business requirements
Drive cost optimization and value creation through strategic sourcing initiatives
Freight Management
Handle procurement and rate finalization for Sea & Air Freight
Monitor market trends, freight indices, and capacity dynamics to ensure competitive pricing
Inland Logistics
Oversee procurement and execution of inland haulage (first mile and last mile connectivity)
Ensure seamless coordination between ports, warehouses, and plants
Warehousing
Manage sourcing and contracts for bonded warehousing
Ensure compliance with customs regulations and optimize storage costs
EXIM Operations Facilitation
Support and coordinate for smooth execution of exports and imports
Work closely with internal stakeholders (supply chain, finance, plant teams) and external partners (CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines)
Vendor Management
Identify, onboard, and evaluate logistics service providers
Drive performance reviews, SLA adherence, and continuous improvement
Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to regulatory, statutory, and company procurement policies
Maintain documentation and audit readiness
Qualifications & Experience
Education: MBA / BE (preferred specialization in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations)
Experience: 5–8 years in logistics procurement / EXIM sourcing
Strong understanding of EXIM processes, freight markets, and logistics ecosystem.
Strategic sourcing and negotiation
Strong knowledge of EXIM logistics (CFS, CHA, freight, warehousing)
Stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination
Analytical mindset with cost optimization focus
Vendor development and performance management
Good understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks
