About The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, energetic and highly motivated senior legal counsel with strong APAC regulatory experience - both in established and emerging markets - to advise on regional matters in a fast-moving industry. Reporting directly to the Head of APAC Legal, this is a senior position that requires engaging with regulators and government bodies, keeping abreast of legislative and regulatory developments in APAC and engaging with senior C-level regional stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Take lead on matters with top management attention, providing counsel and legal support to senior stakeholders in the region and globally.
  • Advise on APAC regulatory matters, managing external stakeholders (government agencies, regulators, industry bodies, outside counsel, etc.) as and when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other members of the global Legal team on cutting-edge global projects.
  • Partner with our Risk, Compliance and Licensing teams to monitor APAC regulatory developments, ensuring regional policies and playbooks are up to date, and update senior management on the same.
  • Leverage AI and specialist software to enhance the efficiency and quality of the team's output.

What We Look For In You

  • Common law degree holder (LLB / J.D.).
  • Qualified solicitor with 15 years PQE.
  • Trained and qualified in a common law jurisdiction with strong regulatory experience obtained in a reputable international law firm, plus in-house experience at financial institutions/ FinTech/ Crypto companies, including experience advising and presenting to senior stakeholders, covering multiple jurisdictions in APAC.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of complex, multi-pronged and time-sensitive issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess meaningful experience and good judgment in giving sound practical advice, and be a trusted strategic partner to business leaders and control functions.
  • Take ownership and personally drive end-to-end execution of legal matters that you are responsible for.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, presentable and with excellent communication skills; proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including spoken Mandarin) essential.
