We’re hiring a Deputy Duty Resource Manager for London Overground! This will be alongside your permanent Arriva Rail London Qualified Train Driver position, you will deputise for the Duty Resource team, stepping in when there is a shortage.
Responsibilities:
Ensure traincrew rostering, both planned and reactive is accomplished in the most economical manner within agreements whilst also maintaining depot records both for traincrew deployment, payroll, attendance and safety processes for the depot, in line with the appropriate company procedures.
You will be accountable, through personal observation, that traincrew/ shunters are fit for duty at the time of booking on and that they present themselves in uniform, with all the required equipment.
Checking and implementing staff changes in accordance with short term planning and emergency requirements, whilst also ensuring that all staff complete the required training, medicals and meetings.
Assist in following up of traincrew reports, liaising with Control, Driver Managers and HQ department as required.
Arrange for and facilitate the screening of staff for alcohol and/or drugs as directed either post-incident or as part of a randomized sample.
Oversee the payroll administration in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications:
As this role is based at New Cross Gate, we are only accepting applications from current ARL New Cross Gate Qualified Drivers.
Methodical individual, who has a problem-solving mindset with strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Any experience of diagramming, rostering and train running information systems is desirable but not essential.
Any experience managing a team would be desirable, as well as knowledge of staff terms and conditions of service.
Computer literacy is essential, as well as good organisational skills and leadership qualities.
