Job Summary: Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Major Duties:

  • What to expect Assists the Director in developing MCCS business strategies, ensuring policy and procedural compliance, measuring the organization's performance and correcting failing strategies. Resolves internal and external operational problems not covered by established policies including the coordination and collaboration with other staff agencies. Exercises technical and administrative supervision over subordinate managers to include setting annual performance plan goals with each manager and evaluating their attainment of such goals. Resolves financial, personnel and operational problems that impact on the effectiveness of MCCS programs. Maintains liaison with advisory boards, councils and unions. Sets priorities and establishes methods and time frames for accomplishments of MCCS projects. Responsible for superior execution of brand standards both tangible and intangible. Serves as a subject matter expert and direct advisor to senior leaders in the organization for the assigned organizational division. Counsels and trains employees, schedules and appraises work performance. Approves or disapproves leave, and personnel actions. This is a white-collar position in which occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: What are we looking for? A minimum of five years' experience that demonstrates knowledge of management principles in planning, coordinating, and attaining the goals and financial objectives of a large customer-oriented organization A thorough knowledge of business practices, economic principles and ability to analyze trends/developments and make improvements in operating programs through innovative marketing, personnel management and retailing. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field appropriate to the work of position and four years of related business operations experience OR an appropriate combination of education and experience which demonstrates a high degree developing business strategies, ensuring policy and procedural compliance, measuring organizational performance and correcting failing strategies OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. Must possess and exhibit superior oral and written communication skills and have ability to interact comfortably with such individuals as elected officials, senior military officials, members of the Senior Executive Service, etc. A working knowledge of Marine Corps culture, staff procedures and organization is preferred. This position may be designated as a non-critical sensitive position; therefore, must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Tier 3 (T3), Secret Clearance level background check.
