Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Depositary Operations Specialist, who will work under supervision of a Manager and be engaged in various projects, special analyses and initiatives relating to technical aspects of the business. You will act as a process SME and provide technical support to a Depositary Manager and teams to ensure all deliverables are produced and dispatched on time in accordance with client service level agreements and agreed quality standards.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

The role requires a minimum of three days per week working form the office.

Depositary is an EMEA specific regulatory function with Fiduciary duty to the end investor.

European investment funds, whether UCITS or AIF, must appoint a Depositary in accordance with the UCITS and AIFM Directives. The Depositary is responsible for the safekeeping of the investment fund’s assets and therefore ensures separation of those assets from the management of the fund. In addition, the depositary is required to perform oversight functions and, in this way, oversees certain activities of the fund manager such as valuation of the fund assets and monitoring of fund cash flows.

What you will be responsible for

As a Depositary Operations Specialist you will:
•           Prepare and review various depositary controls being part of: safekeeping, cash flow monitoring, oversight activities (the biggest piece)

  • Liaise with various stakeholders (internal & external) and supporting business lines for the purpose of obtaining key inputs to service delivery, resolving errors and discrepancies.
  • Assists Manager in workload organization in the Team
  • Take ownership for job aid & process maps quality and updates
  • Identify issues and problems in service delivery and carry out necessary corrective action. Ensure the issues log is updated and proper remedial action is implemented
  • Provide on-the job training and share background of controls to less experienced employees
  • Actively participate in audits – conducting share sessions & samples delivery
  • Actively participate in Depositary transformation project – providing necessary output and implement target operating model
  • Support testing and implementation of new systems and products related to the ongoing business transformation. Provide regular progress reports and feedback during project meetings.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, apply lean approach and work with team members in order to increase productivity
  • Take responsibility for analysis and streamlining depositary controls, work with other SMEs to create a unified process flow, standardizing processes and establishing best practice

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • At least +3 years of relevant working experience preferably in Depositary / fund accounting or related function
  • General knowledge of NAV valuation components & Depositary duties around NAV oversight
  • Proved track record of implemented processes simplifications
  • Knowledge of UCITS and AIFMD directives, CSSF Circulars would be an advantage
  • Experience in VBA, Xceptor would be considered as an asset

Minimum Salary:

zł87 000 Annual

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.​

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.​

In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.​
