Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Deployable Avionics Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Aircraft Solutions organization. This role is located at Edwards AFB, CA.
Job Duties
You will install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems wiring in aircraft in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations.
You will fabricate, install and test installation, routing, clamping and wiring harnesses.
Read wiring diagrams and blueprints.
Ability to operate specialty vehicles. Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours.
Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
Able to relay and receive information.
Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditions and a complete understanding of Aviation and Aerospace technical data.
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
Willing/able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
Have and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
Accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 180 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements.
Meet medical requirements for worldwide travel
Must have an active DoD Secret with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces
Must be able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
A current Top Secret clearance.
Operational experience.
