Hourly Pay Range:
$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
- Position: Sleep Lab Department Support Assistant II
- Location: Swedish Hospital, Chicago, IL
- Full Time: 40 hours per week
- Hours: 7:00am – 3:30pm
- Weekends: No regular weekend requirement; occasional schedule flexibility may be needed based on department needs.
What you will do:
- The Sleep Support Assistant II provides administrative and technical support to the Sleep Disorders Center. This role is responsible for desk functions, supporting sleep technologists and providers, and assisting with the preparation, initialization, and distribution of Home Sleep Testing (HST) equipment to patients during daytime hours. The position helps ensure smooth daily operations, excellent patient experience, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Greet and register patients, verify demographics and insurance, and assist with check-in and check-out processes.
- Answer phones, route calls, and respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, preparation instructions, and HST returns.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel sleep studies and HST appointments in the electronic medical record (EMR) and scheduling systems.
- Assist with initializing, programming, and distributing Home Sleep Study (HST) devices to patients during the day, including basic education on device use and return instructions.
- Track HST inventory, maintain logs of devices assigned/returned, and notify leadership of missing or overdue equipment.
What you will need:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare, medical office, or hospital setting preferred.
- Prior experience in sleep medicine preffered
- Proficiency with computers, EMR systems (e.g., Epic), scheduling, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
