Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
SUMMARY
The Department Secretary II provides secretarial support to the Pathology Department. Transcribes gross surgical description and microscopic description. Pulls slides and reports for pathology conferences/consultations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately transcribes gross surgical description and report headings.
Accurately transcribes microscopic description and diagnosis dictation.
Accurately transcribes gross and microscopic, autopsy dictation and general correspondence as needed.
Maintains Anatomic report files.
Responds to telephone calls promptly and professionally.
Pulls slides and reports for pathology conferences/consultations.
Provides service to internal and external customers.
Demonstrates working knowledge of the SCC information system.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Works with supervisor to plan for and accomplish departmental and organization goals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3 to 5 years experience in medical office required.
Medical terminology and transcription experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in Secretarial Sciences or Medical Records preferred.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
